Synopsis Mike Haddican, proud small-town gym owner and renowned karate instructor, is an all-around good guy. He's never needed much to be happy. Only his family, his friends, his girl. Especially his girl. So when that girl up and left him seven years ago to chase her dreams, she all but destroyed him. Sure, contemporary dancer Kyra Brims made it big, but it cost her dearly. Now her life and career are in shambles. She doesn't need a do-over; she needs a friggin' miracle. Injured, broke, and out of options, she returns to Alden, the town she swore she'd never see again -- and home of Mike Haddican, the man who ripped her soul to pieces -- to lick her wounds and recover. Forgetting and letting go proved impossible when they were worlds apart; now that they’re stuck together they don’t stand a chance, especially with Mike’s grandma and her partners in crime plotting, meddling and refusing to give up on them. But as the passion that never died burns out of control, so do old hurts and unresolved issues. They're going to have to dig deep down to find forgiveness and the wisdom to move on. Review I sometimes get a little cautious about spin off series especially when it comes to a series that I absolutely loved like Elle Aycart's Bowen series and I have to say I was not at all disappointed with Deep Down. Elle has created a new series with a an entirely new set of characters who you just love straight away, especially the OG's (Original Grandma's), whilst still making mention of all 3 Bowen brothers without letting them or the women in their lives consume the story. Seven years ago Kyra chases her dream of becoming a professional dancer and accepts a job on a luxury cruise ship. Mike is happy with his life, he has a loving family, an out of control Grandmother, great friends a job he loves running the family business with his father and the love of his life Kyra. until she takes a job as a dancer on a cruise ship and leaves him.. After realizing she has made a mistake taking the job and leaving Mike she rushes back to Mike only to discover that he has moved on, or so she thought... Seven years later with a injured shoulder and no money Kyra has no choice but to return to the small town she grew up in with her 7 year old daughter Sam. Avoiding each other seems to be a lot harder than they both thought especially in small town, and eventually the pair are forced to see each other everyday when Kyra has no choice but to accept a job at the gym Mike's family owns. The tension between the two is so hot and intense it can be felt by everyone whenever the two of them are in the same room, and after witnessing this time and time again and seeing no progress in the relationship between Mike and Kyra the OG's take control of the situation. The more time the two spend together the more the truth comes out about what happened seven years ago when Kyra left. They can't ignore their attraction to one another and agree on a secret friends with benefits relationship, but the more time they spend together and with the close relationship developing between Mike and Sam, Kyra isn't sure any of them will be able to walk away with their hearts in one piece. The heat between Mike and Kyra, that even after seven years apart hasn't died, the tension between them over their breakup and the hilarious antics of the OG's which had me struggling to contain my laughter whist reading on the train ride home from work, throw in a crazy ex-husband who's only concern is himself and doesn't care who he hurts in the process including his wife and daughter and I can't wait to read the next book in the OG's series. Excerpts 'second his gaze landed on Kyra, he felt his cock stir. Jesus fucking Christ. Didn’t the little fucker have a smidgen of dignity?' '"I know you. I lived with you for three years. I brought peanut-butter cups and chocolate. You need chocolate and lots of cuddling"' '"Lets put it this way: you're in your golden years when your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either"' '"I love you, Kyra. I was born to love you. It's always been you. I've tried everything, believe me, to change that, but I realized at the end that will die loving you"' About The Author After a colorful array of jobs all over Europe ranging from translator to chocolatier to travel agent to sushi chef to flight dispatcher, Elle Aycart is certain of one thing and one thing only: aside from writing romances, she has abso-frigging-lutely no clue what she wants to do when she grows up. Not that it stops her from trying all sorts of crazy stuff. While she is probably now thinking of a new profession, her head never stops churning new plots for her romances. She lives currently in Barcelona, Spain, with her husband and two daughters, although who knows, in no time she could be living at the Arctic Circle in Finland, breeding reindeer.
