Life After Taylah Author: Bella Jewel Release Date: May 26, 2014 Synopsis My mother's name is Taylah, and once, a very long time ago, she was my best friend - she was everything I wanted to be. Until the night she disappeared. Ten years on and my life, my families lives and the world around us has never been the same again. How can it be when you are left not knowing? No leads. No connections. Nothing. Just pure emptiness. My dancing is the only way I can separate myself from the pain that lies in my home, in my father's eyes and in my brother's spirit. They need me and I'll fight with everything I am to be there for them, but who will be there for me? Then I meet Nate. Champion Motocross racer and everything my father doesn't want for me. He's forbidden, he's beautiful, and he's carrying a bundle of his own secrets. When I step into his world, there is no turning back. He will consume me. He will teach me how to breathe again. He will put a tiny piece of my broken heart, back together. Review WOWZA Life After Taylah is the story of Avery and Nate, the story will make you laugh and it will certainly make you cry, well I cried and I can honestly say that very rarely will a book make me cry. I don’t really know what I expecting, but I guess after reading all of Bella Jewel’s previous books I knew I was going to be reading another great book, but what I got instead was so much more. I was totally blown away with depth of the story, Bella has really pulled out the big guns in this book. Avery’s mother went missing, ten years later and she is still struggling to find answers as to what happened to her mother, did she leave because she wanted to, was she taken, is she living a new life with someone else, is she dead, so many questions and still no answers. She is in a relationship with Jacob, a relationship that benefits Jacob and her father. The only thing that Avery is getting from her relationship with Jacob is her father continuing to pay for her dancing, not the one thing she has been wanting since the day her mother disappeared, Love… Nate, is everything Avery didn’t know she wanted in a man. The motocross racer is rough around the edges but on the inside he is caring, protective and reliable. He is everything Jacob should be and so much more. The only problem, Nate is married, not happily, but married nonetheless. After spending time together feelings are realised and as much as they try to keep their relationship platonic in the end the attraction wins. The aftermath of acting on such strong feelings for one another is so much worse than trying to ignore them in the first place. With Nate’s wife threatening to take Macy if they end their marriage he has no choice but to stay with the alcoholic and neglectful woman who drains the life out of him. With all this new information gathered on the disappearance of Avery’s mother and relationships are pushed to breaking point all around. This story was brilliant, and I cannot recommend it enough. If you’re looking for something new to read this is exactly what you’re looking for and the best part is that there are 3 more books in the series to come YEEHA!
