Review You know those books that just pull you in from the very beginning? You do, well that’s good because that is exactly what Holding Out did to me and I read the book cover to cover in less than a day. Zara Edgingway is a single mother who has had it rough and for the past 6 years she has lived a very quiet life in Ballarat with her six year old daughter Maya and best friend Deanna. For two years Zara has lived across from the Hawks MC Clubhouse, and for two years she has admired their MC Talon Marcus. Talon is the president of the Hawks Motorcycle Club he and is dominate, alpha, protective and caring (but don’t tell anyone about the caring part). For two years Talon has stood by and watch Zara carefully planning the time that he will claim her and make her his. Everything is Zara’s life is going well for her, she has a great job, her daughter is happy and her best friend is by her side as always. Until one night when Talon decides that it’s time to make Zara his, after a scorching hot kiss that leaves Zara struggling to understand what exactly just happened her brother appears out of nowhere and drops a bomb on Zara’s life that has her ready to pack up and bolt with her daughter and best friend all over again. Only this time she has Talon who won’t let her run and will do everything to protect her from the abusive ex-husband she ran from six years ago. Talon has made it clear to Zara that she is his woman even after only one kiss and there is no way that she is going to run. Zara is independent and has been since she ran from her ex-husband and she has no intention of becoming dependent on a man again. But when Talon goes all alpha on Zara about her wanting to pack up and run away she starts to put up a fight but soon enough she gives up realising that she even after just one kiss she trust Talon with not only her life but her daughters as well. This is was such an easy book to read, the characters were entertaining and Deanna (aka Hell Mouth) is hilarious. It is nice for a change to read a book where the lead female isn’t an over the top dramatic pain in the ass and is not only willing to let the people around her help but is able to keep her independence which is exactly what Lila Rose has been able to achieve with Zara’s character. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. Great Job Lila About The Author Lila Rose has moved about Australia a lot of her life.
