Easton Crawford put his modeling career and good looks before his marriage until it was over. Years later, he is finally learning how to be the father his daughter needed him to be. He’s not looking for a new mom for his daughter—just nightly casual hook-ups. When his best friend, Avery, convinces him that a good way to meet a lot of single women is to go on a single’s cruise, Easton finds more than just a hook-up when he meets a fellow cruiser, Brooke.
Brooke Bradley has taken care of her younger sister, Bailee, for most of their lives. While their mother was enjoying not being a mother, Brooke became the adult in the household at thirteen. She had always taken care of the people in her life, especially her boyfriend, Jared. If it wasn’t for Brooke, Jared wouldn’t know how to function throughout the day.
When Brooke’s best friend, Nicole, gives her a gift of going on a cruise without telling her that it’s a single’s cruise, will Brooke find someone willing to be her constant and finally leave Jared?
Brooke and Easton learn that people are brought into their lives for many reasons. Over time, they find out what those reasons are. Some are to be a temporary acquaintance while others are there for life.
I am huge fan of Kimberly Knights books and Tattooed Dots has just made me love her more. The title of the book had me stumped for a bit but in the end there is really no better title for this story.
Single father Easton Crawford is just amazing, he has made mistakes in the past and he is doing everything he can to right some of those wrongs by being the best father he can to his daughter after the death of her mother. He is happy being the single father with the one night stands until he is convinced to go on a singles cruise. Thinking that this single cruise is going to be just a nice holiday in the sun on a boat with loads of single women he was not prepared for the way his life would change once he met Brooke Bradley.
Brooke is used to looking after everyone, she's looked after her sister since she was a child and is in a relationship with a dead beat loser (lets be honest, he is) who really if it wasn't for Brooke would have no idea how to function from day to day, and she knows it her but she is so used to looking after everyone that she doesn't know how to let people just deal with their own lives while she lets herself have a bit of fun and a life of her own. When Brooke meets Easton on singles cruise she is hit instantly with a connection to another person that she has never felt before and this connection is one that will change her life forever.
The emotion in the story as it progresses and both Easton and Brooke realize that all they have both be doing for a long time now is going through the motions of day to day life, it just pulls you right into the story and wont let you go until the end. Both Brooke and Easton have been doing what they thought was right for the ones they love for such a long time that they have both lost sight of what would really make them happy and all it takes is for them to realize this is a chance meeting on a cruise ship. The connection between the two hits you instantly through the story and its just grows stronger and stronger as it progresses.
After Easton and Brooke meet the life changes they both go through show how much a person can grow when they find someone that makes them want to be a better human being. When unwanted news hits the couple they both realize that its time to make these changes because life really is too short not too.
This is truly one of the most beautiful stories I have read.
Kimberly Knight lives in the mountains near a lake with her loving husband and spoiled cat, Precious. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her favorite reality TV shows, watching the San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks kick butt, crushing candy on Candy Crush, playing computer games like World of Warcraft with Audrey Harte and online poker. Now that she lives near a lake, she plans on working on her tan and doing more outdoor stuff like...watching hot guys ski. However, the bulk of her time is dedicated to writing and reading Romance and Erotic fiction.
