She’s a tom-boy waif who’s more nerd than goddess.
When Tori Bennett ends up at the Justice Brothers compound in the Arizona desert,
she’s running away from an epic scandal with her in the starring role as whistleblower.
She’d had enough of powerful, arrogant men, and just wanted to
fly off the radar for a while and get her confidence back.
Draegyn St. John was all that and then some…and he knew it.
As if being a trust-fund kid with the blonde good looks of a Nordic god wasn’t enough,
he was also a Special Forces Vet with a serious attitude. Women fell at his feet.
It wasn’t even a challenge. Until Victoria Bennett comes along and rocks
his high and mighty world in a very big way.
Sparks fly each time they meet. When an agency crisis throws them together on an out-of-town trip, their business relationship becomes personal in a hurry. For Drae, it’s an itch he needs to scratch and for Tori, it’s a flat out case of lust. No harm, no foul, right?
Find out what happens when her smart mouth and refusal to take anybody’s crap meets his powerful arrogance. When what happened in Vegas, didn’t stay in Vegas, everyone is in for one shock after another!
Draegan (Drae) is a Special Forces Vet who now runs a very successful business with his two best mates he is very much the alpha male. He is a man who grew up living the privileged life never wanting for anything and he has the arrogance to show for it. Not wanting the same relationship of convenience that his parents have where there is no love, a relationship only for show he has decided to live only for one night stands avoiding any sort of romantic connection with any woman.
Victoria (Tori) Bennett is looking to start over in a place where she will blend into the background. She has already had one man embarrass her publicly and she has no intention of letting that happen again. At first glance Tori comes across as a quiet nerdy "little mouse", hiding behind dowdy and boring clothes and a pair of glasses and she is quite happy with her new life in Arizona working for Alex and the Justice Agency until Draegan St John returns home.
When Drae meets Tori there is an initial attraction to the mousy girl in the awful clothes and ugly glasses and for the life of him he can't work out why he is so attracted to who her when she is the total opposite to the women he has been with in the past.
When Tori and Drae are forced to work together in Las Vegas Drae is shocked to see that the "little mouse" he thought Tori was is not who she is at all. Tori is a smart, confident and she will bust his balls without a second through if he thinks he is going to be able to push her around he has another thing coming. When things get heated just before they head back to Arizona Drae gets a huge reality check when he tires to push Tori around and place responsibility and blame for things gone wrong, Tori fires back at him with just as much if not more force shocking the hell out of Drae. Who thought the "little mouse" had it in her, and if he thinks its just a one time thing he has another thing coming. With each argument they have there is still the undeniable hot chemistry between the two of them they can't be ignored no matter how much they try to ignore it and push it away.
Usually it's the female in books that will over think everything and frustrates the hell out of me when they refuse to see that the best thing that will ever happen to them is right in front of them, but this time its the male and I loved every bit of it. Very few books have been able to pull off a male character like this without losing the alpha male status but Suzanne has done a great job showing just how much Drae has been affected by his upbringing and the false relationship that is parents have whist maintaining his Alpha male status.
This book is hot, it has Alpha men (always a winner) and women who are not afraid to put an Alpha in his place and bring them to their knees.
